Runout

Runout Machine

The RunOut Machine acquisition system was created in collaboration with a renowned multinational company operating in the energy sector, for the ‘’in process’’ check of rotors for gas turbines.

The system detects the shaft’s shape error through six pick-ups, four of which of contact inductive type and three without contact, the data is sent to the unit that analyses the single profiles and their combination (analytical and statistic elaborations). A spectral analysis (FFT) can be performed on this data, in order to detect the signal’s harmonic components.

The utmost flexibility of the system allows to perform the geometric analysis with the shaft mounted directly in the work station, and therefore to quickly take action in case of anomalies, adjusting them in the production process.
